Women From Former Soviet Union Visit Mikvah

Recently, a Jewish group of women from Odessa, Ukraine, under the direction of Rabbi Avrahom Wolff and his wife, Chana, emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, visited Lubavitch Headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, and went to the Rebbe’s holy resting place—the Ohel—to pray. They then made a trip to our state-of-the-art “Bat Sheva Chaya Esther Mikvah” and were given a tour by Rebbetzin Shterney Kanelsky, associate director of Bris Avrohom.

The mikvah was named after Bat Sheva ob”m Kanelsky, daughter of Rabbi and Mrs. Kanelsky, whose short life of 65 days was the vehicle that inspired thousands of individuals to increase their good deeds. It was also named after Rebbetzin Chaya Esther, ob”m, Zaltzman, Mrs. Kanelsky’s mother, in memory of her self-sacrifice and the devotion she had to the Jewish community. The tour was followed by a dinner and farbrengen at Bris Avrohom’s headquarters, led by Mrs. Kanelsky.

Rebbetzin Wolff expressed their thanks and gratitude: “We and our group were extremely inspired. For some it was their favorite part of the trip!”
