JVS Receives Funding to Relocate to New Facility in the Community

East Orange—Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ recently announced that they’ve provided the necessary funding for Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest New Jersey (JVS) to relocate to a new, modern facility that will allow the nonprofit, community-based health and human service organization to enhance the services that it provides to a diverse clientele. The new building, located at 7 Glenwood Avenue in East Orange, will sit a short distance from JVS’s former address at 111 Prospect Street. As a result, the office will remain near public transportation and simplify the transition process for current clients.

“Our Federation has long recognized and supported the wonderful work that JVS does in our community,” said Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ President Leslie Dannin Rosenthal. “We’re glad to have been able to provide the $1.2 million to facilitate the move. It’s an investment in the future of Jewish Vocational Service and in the many people in our community who they serve.”

The new building will consist of classrooms and computer labs that have been customized for each of JVS’s core programs. These include Vocational Training, Education and Literacy Training, English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), Citizenship Exam Preparation and Refugee Services. JVS has also recently opened up an office in Livingston, located at 354 Eisenhower Parkway, to better accommodate its clientele in the Jewish community by offering services such as Home Care, Corporate Training and Career Counseling.

“The Federation has been a longtime believer in JVS and we thank them for the continued encouragement. Their support has allowed us to successfully meet the needs of a diverse clientele that is constantly increasing in size,” said Addy Bonet, JVS’s chief executive officer. “This new space will provide both current and new clients with the proper resources required for JVS to efficiently serve each individual and enhance its services.”
