Toronto High Schoolers from CHAT Perform at Jewish Home

Seventy-eight students from the Tanenbaum CHAT High School in Toronto visited seniors at the Jewish Home at Rockleigh on Wednesday, October 30 to perform a concert. The 78 students were divided into two groups, one of 50 and the other of 28 students, and the groups switched during a 15-minute intermission so that each group performed for the audience. The high school students, who played a variety of songs, were escorted by two teachers.

The tour, organized by Evolve Tours, arranged for the students to perform in other nursing homes around the U.S.

Tanenbaum CHAT is Canada’s largest private high school that helps students explore their involvement with Judaism.

The Jewish Home at Rockleigh is a non-profit, state-of-the-facility that provides long-term care, outreach programs, and outpatient services for the elderly and their families in Bergen, North Hudson, and Rockland counties. JHR and its sister facility, Jewish Home Assisted Living in River Vale, N.J., Jewish Home Foundation, and Jewish Home At Home are members of the Jewish Home Family, Inc. whose mission it is to develop and oversee the very best of care, services, and advice for the elderly and their families at home and in their facilities, now and in the future, consistent with Jewish tradition and values.
