Jack Flamholz Water Sustainability Project Invites Community for a Day of Water Exploration

Join the Jack Flamholz Water Sustainability Project and the Teaneck Creek Conservancy on October 8 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for a fun-filled day learning about water. In a celebration incorporating the symbolic nature of water during this time of year, and the Simchat Beit Hashoevah from the time of the Beit Hamikdash, families are invited to dance, draw and learn about the precious resource of water, its history and sustainable actions to take today. The event features performances by Nikki Manx Dance Studio, Englewind’s Sarah Davol and musical legends singer and storyteller Lauren Hooker.

Visitors can learn about water use in Teaneck and Bergen Country while checking out Teaneck Creek’s new rainwater harvest system, and will have a chance to see the rain barrels at use in two other locations in Teaneck. Children will be invited to develop mural designs for the barrels with members of Teaneck Creek’s Eco-Art Committee.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to the Puffin Cultural Forum. Snacks will be provided but packed lunches are welcome too. Please note, there is no Sukkah on the premises.
