Dr. Eric Mandel, a world expert on Middle Eastern policy, will appear at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades on Wednesday, January 17, at 8 p.m., to discuss the legacy of the Balfour Declaration and the Six Day War and why the historical lessons they represent are as important for Israel today as they were 100 and 50 years ago, respectively. Despite the miraculous growth and flourishing of the Jewish state over the last 70 years, the same powerful questions as to how America and the world relates to a Jewish state have not been resolved. Dr. Mandel will explore what the specific challenges for Israel are, and what decisions America needs to face in presenting a foundational deal to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Dr. Eric Mandel is the founder and director of MEPIN™ (Middle East Political and Information Network™), which provides private Middle East research analysis that is read by members of Congress, foreign policy advisors, members of the Knesset, journalists and other organizational leaders. As director, Dr. Mandel regularly briefs Congress about the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East, and meets with members of Israeli leadership and think tanks as well.
The program is free and open to the community. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to [email protected].
