Cong. Rinat Yisrael to Present Nefesh Yehudi’s Miriam Kosman

Miriam Kosman, of Nefesh Yehudi, will speak on “A Jewish Theology on Gender? A Hareidi Woman’s Perspective” on Sunday, February 11, at 8 p.m.

Kosman is an international lecturer for Nefesh Yehudi, a program that offers classes on Jewish thought and philosophy to Israeli university students. In that capacity, she teaches hundreds of students weekly who are enrolled at Tel Aviv University, Haifa University, Ben Gurion University, the Technion and other colleges. She also runs a year-long course on Jewish thought that has been attended by many women. She is a doctoral candidate at Bar Ilan University, focusing on Jewish philosophy and gender. Her book, “Circle, Arrow, Spiral: Exploring Gender in Judaism,” published in 2014, explores gender roles in the Jewish community. Kosman makes her home in Bnei Brak, Israel.
