YCT Partners With NYU to Create New Certificate Program

Yeshivat Chovevei Torah (YCT) Rabbinical School, a pioneering Orthodox rabbinical school, announced that is has partnered with NYU’s Bronfman Center, a remarkably vibrant center for university Jewish life, to create the NYU Certificate in Spiritual Leadership and Social Impact.

This initiative was born out of the recognition that to be a successful rabbi in the 21st century, a time of accelerated change and rapidly emerging opportunities and challenges, rabbis must have the skills to lead their communities and the ability to build and develop programs that attract and enrich the lives of Jews wherever they are, geographically and religiously. Rabbis must also have the vision and leadership necessary to oversee an institution’s management, development, direction and growth.

The certificate, led by Rabbi Yehuda Sarna and Dr. Nir Tsuk, and with Rabbis Chaim Marder and Jon Kelsen on its curricular team, will become a required part of the rabbinic training, ensuring that every student benefits from this program so as to best serve the Jewish community now and in the future.

Through this program, students will learn to see themselves both as entrepreneurs, carving out a path for themselves to serve and transform with maximal impact, and as intrapreneurs, innovating from within to reinvigorate existing structures and organizations.

The certificate will give YCT students access to the resources of a world-class center for entrepreneurship and innovation at one of the foremost research universities in the world.
