This week, the iCAN Leadership students and the Scott Pazer STEM delegation from Israel spent an amazing evening together. The group bonded over how both groups of high school students come from different parts of the world, yet they all share their strong Jewish identity and commitment to Israel.

JCRC Director Ariella Noveck led the group through a delicate conversation about how challenging it can be when individuals step outside of their bubbles and experience something new. Charlotte Korchak, director of international student programs from StandWithUs, explained to the students how the American view of Israel could be interpreted differently than the Israeli view of the country. The main cause of this is media; both from television and how today’s media is shared and spread so quickly.
