(Courtesy of NORPAC) On Sunday morning, Rena and David Schlussel welcomed back to their home Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) for a NORPAC event in Teaneck.

Senator Collins currently chairs the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee. She is a former chair of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. She also serves on the Intelligence Committee as well as the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

Collins was coauthor of the U.S.-Israel Enhanced Strategic Cooperation Act (S. 2165), which enhanced joint cooperation between America and Israel in fields including missile defense, homeland security, energy, intelligence and cyber-security.

As the principal author with then-Senator Joe Lieberman of landmark cybersecurity legislation, Senator Collins authored a provision to establish joint cooperation between the United States and Israel in her Cybersecurity Act of 2012.

Senator Collins will be up for re-election in November 2020.
