NJJBA Holds Law Enforcement Meeting

Jersey City Police Chief Michael Kelly was recently honored by the North Jersey Jewish Business Alliance at their annual High Holidays Law Enforcement Meeting. Chief Kelly received the Humanitarian Award for his exceptional job working closely with the community while bringing down crime in the city.

The NJJBA coordinates this annual meeting in conjunction with Hatzolah of Union City and the NJ Chaplains Association to enhance communication and understanding between the different agencies and members of the Jewish community. U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, Craig Carpenito addressed the crowd and spoke on the importance of agencies working together and doing outreach to different communities. The attendees were shown a presentation on the different holidays coming up and the specific customs for each holiday that are important for them to be aware of. US Marshal Juan Mattos thanked the organizers and highlighted the importance of such meetings.

In attendance were representatives from the FBI, NJ State Police, NJTransit Police, Hudson County Prosecutor’s office, Bergen, Hudson & Essex Sheriff’s offices, and various departments.

The meeting was hosted by the Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus.
