JBolt Hosts ‘Come Back to Camp’ Weekend with DineNMeet

Sleepaway camp has always provided a natural and easy way for Jewish youths to meet and mingle. Therefore, it is fitting that JBolt, the new Jewish dating app, is hosting a weekend with DineNMeet for Modern Orthodox young professionals to “Come Back to Camp” and rekindle some of that camp romance, or start a new one.

JBolt, one of the sponsors of the Come Back to Camp weekend, is a new dating app from the creators of SawYouAtSinai, the popular matchmaking site which has engaged over 2,400 singles. Its edge is the unconventional combination of traditional matchmakers—the old way to date—and sophisticated app technology—the new way to date. This mixture allows JBolt to create long-term relationships for Jewish singles, in a convenient and accessible way.

Instead of the matchmaker making a match and the singles approving, on JBolt the singles make matches for themselves and the matchmakers assess the matches. This role swap gives the singles more autonomy in their dating life. As Deborah Cenker, a JBolt matchmaker, said, “It is important for me to trust the choices the singles make for themselves.” The Come Back to Camp weekend, in a fashion, is another opportunity for Jbolt singles to have a more active role in their dating decisions.

This event is also sponsored by DineNMeet, an organization that arranges group Shabbos meals for singles. They let singles of a similar age group and religious background socialize in a comfortable setting.

The Come Back to Camp getaway will take place on Labor Day weekend at Camp Seneca Lake. The itinerary will include a wide spectrum of Zumba, basketball, water skiing, a ropes course, beach volleyball and a whole slew of other activities. In addition, incredible speakers such as Nava Silton and Rabbi Aryeh Smith will give lectures to the singles.

“The weekend is a great opportunity for singles to meet naturally,” said Come Back to Camp director Alena Bloom. “It so much easier to connect with people when you are rowing a canoe together or climbing a rock wall side by side.” Come Back to Camp gives people a chance to meet in a relaxed, fun and natural setting, with so many opportunities for exploring, playing and enjoying the outdoors.

To enhance the event, JBolt is releasing a new feature for the app: event mode. It gives singles the ability to look at the profiles of singles attending a specific event through the JBolt app.

“The JBolt event mode allows people to express interest in others attending the event, both during the event itself, as well as afterwards,” said JBolt creator Marc Goldmann. “This way singles can connect in person, knowing they are both already interested, and also get to know someone better post-event if they never had the opportunity to do so during [the event]..”

The DineNMeet, SawYouAtSinai and JBolt combination is sure to lead to a great weekend away, and numerous successful matches.
