Long-time Jewish Vocational Service Employee Retires

East Orange—Lynne Robbins has announced her retirement from Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest New Jersey (JVS) after 28 years of dedication. Robbins, a resident of Woodland Park, joined the organization in 1988 to fulfill her passion of helping others.

As both a career and placement counselor and the Scholarship Loan Program coordinator, Robbins assisted a diverse range of clients and helped them to overcome barriers and obtain occupations in their field of expertise. In addition to her daily tasks, she also created the Job Seekers Network Program, which serves as a resource for those who are unemployed.

“The JVS staff is a group of highly committed individuals who put the well-being of others before their own,” said Addy Bonet, CEO of JVS. “Lynne is a prime example of this. Throughout her time here she’s managed to impact numerous lives and has implemented programs that continue to aid our clients today. The years of hard work that Lynne has put forth will continue to shine throughout the organization in her absence.”

Robbins will remain active in her retirement. She plans on dedicating time to her favorite hobbies, which include traveling, art and tennis. She’ll also continue to give back to her community as a volunteer for NJPAC and a hospice facility of her choice.

Robbins will never forget the impact that JVS has had on her life and will cherish her experiences throughout her retirement. “I will miss the clients most. I loved hearing their success stories and watching them move from point A to point B in their career progression,” Robbins stated. “I’ve learned how to motivate, commiserate, congratulate and everything in-between. That is what has kept me so committed to my career.”

Founded in 1939, Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest New Jersey is a nonprofit, community-based health and human service organization, delivering a wide array of personalized services on a nonsectarian basis to nearly 20,000 individuals each year.
