Terror in Black September

The Orthodox Forum of Highland Park/Edison presents David Raab on Saturday night, March 4, at 8:30 p.m. at Congregation Etz Ahaim. On September 6, 1970, at age 17, en route to the US after a summer in Israel, David Raab was hijacked by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) to Jordan. He was held hostage for three weeks: first on a plane in the desert, then in a Palestinian refugee camp, and then in an apartment in Amman through a civil war. In 2007, he published “Terror in Black September.”

Since the early 1990s, David has been highly involved in Middle East political activities. In the 1990s, he served as the chairman of the North Jersey Political Action Committee (NORPAC), a member of the AIPAC Executive Committee, and a trustee of UJA Federation of Bergen County. He has published numerous pieces in the New York Jewish Week and other Anglo-American papers; the Jerusalem Post; Azure Magazine; and the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs Viewpoints.

David Raab is currently Executive Vice President of the Touro College and University System. Before that, he was a strategy and organization consultant who, over 25 years, advised executives and senior managers at corporations and organizations in the United States and Israel. He holds an M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. from the Weizmann Institute and a B.A. from Bar Ilan. He served in the Israel Defense Forces and has taught at the University of Pennsylvania and Yeshiva University.

The program is free of charge. The Orthodox Forum gladly accepts season sponsorships, as well as program sponsorships. For more information go online to www.orthodoxjewishforum.org.
