RSVP of Union Seeks Volunteers 55+

The RSVP Program for Union County engages people 55 and over to volunteer their services to meet critical community needs and provide a high-quality experience that will enrich the lives of volunteers.

A training session will take place on Tuesday, October 24, at 11:00 a.m., at the Jewish Family Service office, 655 Westfield Avenue, Elizabeth. Volunteer opportunities run the gamut from packing and delivering emergency food packages, harvesting vegetables at community gardens, visiting homebound seniors, tutoring school-aged children, serving at a Congregate Nutrition Site and much more.

According to Jewish Family Service Executive Director Tom Beck, “RSVP of Union County focuses its volunteer placement efforts in the areas of Healthy Futures, Education Disaster Service and Capacity Building.” RSVP enables volunteers to make a difference in the lives of children and the elderly and help frail members of our county be better prepared for natural disasters that might occur

Contact RSVP Program Coordinator Nathalie Garcia at [email protected] or 908-352-8375 if you are interested in volunteer opportunities and want to attend the information session.
