Parsippany Shabbaton to Feature Nachum Segal November 3-4

Nachum Segal, host of “JM in the AM” will be the scholar-in-residence for the eighth Dr. George S. Rotter Memorial Shabbaton at Congregation Shaya Ahavat Torah in Parsippany, on November 3-4. The Shabbaton will begin on Friday, November 3, with Shabbat services at 5:30 p.m., followed by a sumptuous Shabbat dinner at 6:30 p.m. Nachum Segal will give his keynote presentation following dinner, speaking on “Promoting Jewish Unity in a Fractured World.”

The Shabbaton continues on Saturday, November 4, with services at 9 a.m. Mr. Segal will again address the congregation following a deluxe kiddush lunch, speaking of “My Journey: How a Young Boy From Newark Became a Household Name Throughout the Jewish World.”

Nachum Segal has been the host of “JM in the AM: Jewish Moments in the Morning” since September 1983. JM in the AM has been a constant of Jewish life in the New York metropolitan area for more than a generation. Nachum’s warmth, sincerity and personality have helped him develop a loyal and enthusiastic audience and his efforts have gained him a radio program of record in the Jewish world. He is known as one of the few in radio to analyze and probe issues from the perspective of the Jewish world. As a result, influential members of the political world—from ambassadors to senators to Knesset members—have sought time on the air and joined Nachum in the studio.

Congregation Shaya Ahavat Torah is located at 113 Hawkins Ave. in Parsippany, New Jersey and has expanded its community eruv to include the nearby Holiday Inn and the Ramada Inn. The deadline for Shabbaton reservations is October 25. For more information, contact Naomi Rotter at [email protected] or Rabbi Shalom Lubin at 973-896-6577.
