(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) On Sunday, December 3, Bris Avrohom, headquartered in Hillside, celebrated its 38th annual dinner and 32nd gala weddings at the Sheraton in Parsippany, in which five couples from the former Soviet Union were married according to Jewish tradition. This event was called a “Celebration of Religious Freedom.” To date, Bris Avrohom has married close to 950 couples.
The Sheraton Parsippany Hotel’s ballroom was filled with approximately 350 guests and addressed by its keynote speaker, Ambassador Dani Dayan, consul general of Israel. Ambassador Dayan shared with the guests his first encounter with the Lubavitcher Rebbe in 1978. He spoke about the opportunity our generation has to return the millions of Jews from the former Soviet Union to their roots of yiddishkeit and how Bris Avrohom is at the helm of accomplishing this goal.
