Chabad of West Orange Celebrates Annual Dinner

(Courtesy of Chabad of WO) Chabad of West Orange held its Annual Dinner, which celebrated its recent exponential growth and success. One important focus was on the future and its financial stability. Guests of honor Marsha and Marvin Frank were given the “Chabad Tomorrow Award” for their vision in securing Chabad’s future. In their remarks they reiterated the importance of remembering Chabad when estate planning.

“As concerned Jews we are obligated to secure a strong Jewish future for the next generation!” Marsha Frank remarked.

Guests of honor Shirley and Phil Levitan, mentioned how “the uplifting services, the Smile On Seniors programs, the educational programs and of course bringing a softball championship trophy to Chabad,” were very meaningful to them.

Chabad presented the Presidential Recognition Award to Tuvia and Dell Sahl who served as Chabad’s first president and first lady back in 2005. Sheina and Reuvan Herrera received the Community Service Award for all their dedication and devotion to the West Orange community.

“As a first-time attendee at West Orange Chabad’s dinner, I can tell you, it was a highlight of my initial eight months of involvement with Chabad,” said Menachem Eidenbaum, a Newark resident. “The joy and warm feelings in the room were certainly undeniable and I plan to attend services and the annual dinner indefinitely, God willing.”

“There is something special happening here,” said Rabbi Kasowitz, director and spiritual leader of Chabad of West Orange. “We have only been in our new building for two years and thank God we are nearing capacity. The joke at our daily minyan is that you better come early if you want to get a seat… We are grateful to every donor and supporter who help us help others, now during our annual major fundraiser, and of course, throughout the year.”

Chabad of West Orange, located at 401 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, provides essential services and offers support to those in need in a warm and welcoming place to learn, laugh, live and embrace our Jewish tradition.
