WAYVE Board Awards Grants to Union County Organizations

WAYVE Teen Philanthropy Board chairs Ava Feldman and Aidan Maher announced $5,900 in grant awards to seven Union County organizations at an awards ceremony that recently took place. Grants were awarded to Caring Contact; CASA of Union County; Community Coordinated Child Care of Union County; Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless—Operation Warm Heart; Family and Children’s Services, Inc.; HOPES Community Action Partnership-Plainfield College Readiness Program; and The Westfield Neighborhood Council.

Feldman stated that it is her “hope to inspire other teens to volunteer.” Maher added, “I have learned a great deal from being able to experience the business side of philanthropy while allocating funds to groups who directly help the underprivileged in Union county.”

WAYVE (The Westfield Area Youth Volunteer Experience) is made possible through a generous grant from the Westfield Foundation and is coordinated by Jewish Family Service of Central NJ, a non-profit, non-sectarian health and social service agency that serves all residents of Union County.
