YU-Linden Beit Midrash Series Begins

The first lecture of the Linden Beit Midrash of 2018-2019 coordinated with Yeshiva University was held at Congregation Anshe Chesed on Monday, November 26. Rabbi Yaakov Glasser, dean of YU’s Center for the Jewish Future and rabbi of the Young Israel of Passaic-Clifton, was the featured speaker.

Beginning with the humorous story of his own connection to the Linden community through NCSY and various families of Linden fame, Glasser established an instant bond with the crowd. He then spoke in a highly engaging and entertaining fashion about the unique imagery of the menorah as featured in the Torah and Beit Hamikdash, and its connection to Jewish leadership and the state of Israel.

The shiur was preceded by tasty Chinese cuisine from Tokyo Hibachi of Springfield. The evening was an amazing kickoff to this lecture series with over 50 people in attendance. The Linden Beit Midrash runs through May 2019. The next shiur will take place on Wednesday, December 19th at 8:00pm with Rabbi Michoel Zylberman speaking on the topic of Geirus. The public is welcome and the shiur is free of charge. RSVP to the shul office at 908-486-8616.
