(Courtesy of RPRY) Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva eighth graders are preparing for the screening later this month of their year-long Holocaust study documentary through “Names, Not Numbers©.” The project, “Better Together—Names, Not Numbers ©,”

created by educator Tova Fish-Rosenberg, is taking place at RPRY for the fourth year in a row.

Over the year-long project students created a documentary recording the oral histories of participating Holocaust survivors. Six Holocaust survivors graciously shared their stories this year: Margit Buchhalter Feldman, Agnes Friedman, Ruth Heilbron Gottlieb, Dr. G. Eugene Gottlieb, Inge Katzenstein and Sol Lurie. Simultaneously, a documentary of this process was created by filmmaker Adam Chinoy, which included excerpts from the students’ documentary. The curriculum taught students about the Shoah beyond facts and figures, with rich and deep understanding gained by learning directly from the first-person testimonies.

Please join RPRY for the screening of “Names, Not Numbers©, a Movie in the Making” on Thursday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. at RPRY in Edison.
