Congregation Etz Ahaim will host a lecture accompanied by a PowerPoint and slideshow presented by Israel Maya on Wednesday, May 23, at 8 p.m. at 230 Denison St. in Highland Park. Mr. Maya was the former president of the Sephardic Jewish Center of Canarsie, Brooklyn, for 19 years. Recently retired after 36 years in the securities and commodities industry, he’s an active member of Union Hebrea Chevet Ahim, a burial society located in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
