Upgrade the Sanctions Against Iran

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley warned once again that Iran cannot be permitted to “use the nuclear deal to hold the world hostage.”

What part of a dangerous, existential threat to Israel and the Middle East don’t the American left, Europe and other nations understand?

This failed Obama Administration-driven policy has been threatened almost every step of the way by the Iranian regime and its President Hassan Rouhani, who warned the world that if the U.S. continues threats of sanctions it could start the process of militarizing nuclear material “within hours.”

Sadly, our country has released hundreds of billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets already, which undoubtedly will show up in some sort of future attempt at Middle East destabilization and direct threat to Israel. It will potentially cost lives.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the world, not to mention the U.S. Congress in person, to expect Iran to pursue nuclear capabilities. Iran, meanwhile, threatens the U.S. naval forces with reckless disregard for safety while it supports Basher Al-Assad’s treachery in Syria, a nation that shares a border with Israel.

Oh, and by the way, the PA’s Abbas was quoted recently as congratulating the North Korean regime for its nuclear developments, a dangerous program many suspect is supported by Iran and Russia.

If anything, we know that Haley is a strong American voice watching Iran. She once described herself as the “new sheriff in town,” and we support all of her efforts to call out the Iranian regime for what it is. We support the resumption of sanctions against Iran no matter what the Obama Administration recklessly promised.

Any action that would stop development of Tehran’s deadly intentions cannot happen soon enough.
