Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

This Sunday when the sun goes down and we begin the observance of Rosh Hashanah for the year 5776, we face the Almighty together as Jews.

It won’t be an issue of right wing or left. There will be no status given one’s social, economic or even political standing.

On Rosh Hashanah, we stand as equals, knowing that our judgment comes from Hashem. Our prayers for a good and sweet year come to a peak of sorts on Yom Kippur when the names in the Book of Life for the coming year are sealed.

We wish for all of you, our loyal readers, our dedicated advertisers and our beautiful New Jersey and New York Jewish communities, a year of health, a year of spiritual and intellectual growth and a year where the goals you’ve worked so hard to achieve come to fruition.

We also pray to the Almighty that 5776 will be a peaceful, prosperous year for Israel and our family members and friends who have made a life there and who have chosen to defend it against its enemies.

Our prayer also asks that despite deals made in the Middle East, that Israel will continue to be secure and to move forward as a nation of leadership and compassion.

Also, we hope and pray that this year will be a year that any differences we might have in the Orthodox community be discussed in a spirit of civility.

We want to thank the members of New Jersey and New York’s Jewish communities for supporting the Jewish Link, welcoming us into your households as a media source that we hope is satisfying to your needs.

We will continue to cover local news, Israel news and feature stories that are important to our community. We will strive to be the “paper of record” especially for the Modern Orthodox community. And we will continue to welcome your op-eds, commentaries, letters to the editor and even news articles. We will continue to “hear you out” when it comes to story ideas and areas of coverage.

Ketiva v’chatima tova from our Jewish Link staff to you and your families.
