A Mazel Tov Double Header for the Shapiro Family

Galila Shapiro, daughter of Marla and Saadia Shapiro of Englewood, New Jersey, and Elie Flatow, son of Kathy and Arnie Flatow of Great Neck, New York, were married on June 17, 2018, at The Surf Club in New Rochelle, New York. Rabbi Dale Polakoff, spiritual leader of Great Neck Synagogue was the mesader kiddushin.

Galila has completed her first year of studies at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is a graduate of The Stern College for Women Honors Program. Elie has completed his first year of studies at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a graduate of Yeshiva University Honors Program.

The beautiful ceremony took place overlooking the water with the couple surrounded by loving family and friends. “All of the people around us throughout the evening are what made our simcha really special and memorable” said Galila and Elie.

The Shapiros thank Main Event/Mauzone Caterers, Ike Walkover Orchestra with Uri Davidi, Ruben Gorjian Photography, Noor Video Productions, Gold Flowers and The Surf Club’s wonderful staff. “It was truly a pleasure working with each of them,” said Mrs. Shapiro.

Abby Greenbaum, daughter of Rochelle and Steven Greenbaum of Teaneck, and Liam Shapiro, son of Marla and Saadia Shapiro of Englewood, became engaged on July 24, 2018. Liam surprised Abby in the perfect lakeside spot in Central Park. Sisters Galila, Kailee, Arielle and Yael, along with a crowd of onlookers, snapped photos and applauded as Abby and Liam enjoyed a toast. Abby is completing a master’s in economics at Hunter College and Liam will be attending law school in the fall.
