Bnai Yeshurun Welcomes R’ Dovid Cohen as Scholar in Residence

The Adult Education Committee of Congregation Bnai Yeshurun  is proud to host as Scholar in Residence this Shabbat Parshat Vayeishev – Dec. 12-13 – Rabbi Dovid Cohen – Rabbi of the Young Israel of the West Side.

Rabbi Cohen will be speaking at a Friday Night Oneg (8PM) on the topic of:  “Models of Jewish Leadership Circa 2015;” the Shabbat Morning Drasha before laining in the 8:30 Old Main and in the 9:00 Main Minyan after the Young Members Minyan (downstairs) on the topic of: “Communication in the Age of Facebook, Twitter and the iPhone;” and following Mincha at 3:55 on “Finding Balance in Frenetic Times Through the Prism of the Patriarchs & Matriarchs”

Rabbi Dovid M. Cohen has served as Rabbi of the Young Israel of the West Side since 2006.

He is also a member of the executive committee of the RCA and serves as a synagogue consultant for the Orthodox Union, helping to ensure that synagogues across the country are innovative and creative.  He has published many articles on contemporary issues and is a frequent contributor to Mishpacha magazine, the Jewish Press, Times of Israel and the Jewish Week.  He is completing his first book on the vicissitudes of life which will be ready in early 2015.
