Middle School faculty engaged in a wide variety of practical sessions which sparked interesting conversations and healthy debate. Each day had its own theme: Teachers are students too!; communicating our message; school culture; defining and achieving mastery. Many of the sessions related to Carol Dweck’s “growth mindset.” The faculty role-played communicating with parents and giving feedback to students. The sessions were motivating and inspirational, but most important, they gave the teachers an excitement for the upcoming school year. They are ready to meet their new students and await the exciting year ahead!
