The first week back to school was charged with an urgency to help Texan communities devastated by Hurricane Harvey. At the request of Texan community leaders, the SAR High School community initiated a tzedakah campaign: All students and faculty were asked to donate $5 for Houston relief by Friday, September 8.

Large tzedakah boxes were placed around the school building, and students in each morning minyan reminded their peers to donate. Thanks to the commitment of the larger school community, SAR HS raised over $3000 during this initial collection.

The larger SAR tzedakah campaign during the months of September and October will continue to support communities impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
