For the very first time, the middle school of the Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey joined with other schools and organizations in the Jewish community as they brought Sharsheret Pink Day to RYNJ on February 7. All of the girls wore pink clothing and Pink Day stickers to set the tone around the building. The themes they focused on were “Healthy Minds and Healthy Bodies” and “The Importance of Community.” In the morning, the girls were privileged to hear an interactive shiur (healthy minds) from Rebbetzin Chana Reichman who captured her rapt audience and guided them to internalize the significance, the responsibility and the power of the community as she stressed how much we can accomplish when we work together and help one another.

On Wednesday afternoon, each middle school grade was inspired and energized as the girls enjoyed an amazing yoga class (healthy bodies) with RYNJ parent and cancer survivor Dasi Jacob. Throughout the day, the students sold hundreds of dollars worth of pink cookies and were proud to donate all of the proceeds to Sharsheret. The program and activities were sponsored by the Sheffey family in memory of Esti and Shaindy’s grandmother, Malka Chaya bat Yaakov, and by the student council of RYNJ.
