The students of SAR High School had the remarkable privilege on Monday of being addressed by Ehud Barak, former prime minister of the State of Israel. Barak described his dramatic experiences as an officer in Sayeret Matkal, the elite commando unit of the IDF, and shared his thoughts on the most recent political and security developments in Israel, related to the Iran deal and the move of the US embassy. In a school-wide program, former Prime Minister Barak engaged in conversation with Rabbi Harcsztark, after which the floor was opened to student questions. Faculty later had the opportunity to participate in a more intimate Q&A session with Barak in the library. A donor gift enabled every student and staff member to receive a copy of Ehud Barak’s new memoir, “My Country, My Life.”
