BPY Students Enjoy ‘Education on the Road’

Ben Porat Yosef eighth grade, fourth grade and nursery students enjoyed special time outside of school this week during educational trips. The eighth graders celebrated their imminent graduation with a final BPY trip experience in Washington, D.C. They visited and learned about many important city sites, including the Library of Congress, Supreme Court, Vietnam War Memorial, WWII Memorial, Lincoln Memorial and Mount Vernon. They also managed to have fun and final bonding time before graduation, while visiting an Escape the Room, Great Adventure and playing paintball.

Fourth graders visited Ellis Island and explored the museum’s three floors of exhibits, learning more about the history of Ellis Island and the lives of those millions of people who were processed there upon arrival to the United States. Several students were able to find their family name listed in archives at the museum. The students especially enjoyed the ferry ride from Liberty State Park to Ellis Island, passing a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty.

Nursery students had a marvelous experience and learned a lot about farm animals during their trip to Farmstead Estate & Estate Kennels in Ringwood. The estate runs the largest agricultural educational program for children in Northern New Jersey and is home to a petting farm and an 18th century farmhouse. These young students had a wonderful time exploring the property, interacting with the animals and feeding them.
