Bruriah Performs ‘Wait Until Dark’

Bruriah seniors Baila Landa and Arielle Weiss earned a standing ovation from appreciative audiences for directing Bruriah’s annual dramatic performance. “Wait Until Dark” kept students, faculty and parents at the edges of their seats. Junior Temima Hyman was convincing as the visually impaired Suzy Hendrix, and junior Rivka Marcus thrilled the audiences as Harry Roat, Jr., the criminal mastermind trying to get his hands on money smuggled into the United States in Suzy’s doll. Rounding out the cast were seniors Elisheva Hirsch, Talia Postelnek, Maya Ratner and Lana Stern; sophomore Raizl Fine and freshman Michal Altmark. “Being in the play is an awesome experience. You make friends from all grades while doing something you love!,” said Hyman. Producers—Hallie Gordon and Rivka Moskowitz; stage/spot lighting—Atara Pietruszka and Sarah Yager; sound technicians—Shayna Feldman, Gabrielle Thurm and Shaina Weinrib; backstage/stage managers—Kinneret Adler and Ayelet Hager; costumes/props—Shana Erblich and Hudy Weiss; hair and makeup—Shana Erblich, Bracha Gewirtz, Naomie Ryba. Danya Saperstein and Lana Stern managed all the behind-the-scenes activities that are crucial to staging a successful performance.
