Ma’ayanot students enjoyed a memorable night of all-night Torah learning, school spirit and achdut at this year’s Mishmover, Ma’ayanot’s epic all-night mishmar sleepover, on Thursday, December 27. This year’s theme revolved around the movie, “The Greatest Showman,” including a keynote by Rabbi Judah Mischel, executive director of Camp HASC, who spoke about “The Greatest Show: A Family Affair.” Other speakers included, Debbie Stone, who developed the NCSY Koren weekday siddur; Rabbi Daniel Stein of the Ridniker Shteibel on the Upper West Side, who spoke about the halakhot of permanent makeup and tattoos and many members of the Ma’ayanot faculty. Students also enjoyed cake wars with Yachad friends and mindfulness with Dean of Students Bailey Braun and art teacher Natalia Kaddish. Ora Schrier, director of Torah programming who helped organize Mishmover, led an interactive Torah program on jealousy. Principal Rivka Kahan gave a late-night shiur on family traits and identity in Tanach. Seniors and alumnae also led chaburot, followed by a film festival and open learning in the beit midrash.
