As a part of the sixth grade science curriculum Academies @ GBDS students had a wonderful experience in an exciting residential science outdoor program called, The TEVA Learning Center. The TEVA Learning Center is a Jewish environmental education program sponsored by Hazon and is located at Camp Isabella Freedman Retreat Center in Falls Village, Connecticut.

For several years, Academies @ GBDS have worked with the TEVA learning Center to enhance our student’s environmental curriculum while integrating Jewish concepts and values through hands on experiences. These experiences set the tone for developing a sense of community within the student group. Students enjoyed various daily activities, hiking, delicious food and of course singing and dancing.
