Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

This past Saturday night, the MGBL high school regular season came to an exciting end. The first two games of the weekend take us to the Torah Academy of Bergen County. On court one, Akari Therapeutic Plc tipped off against Lincoln Equities Group. Akari lead by big man Jack Stepner (39 points) took a 29-15 margin into the half, but Lincoln’s Aryeh Halpert (25 points) and Chaim Weinstein (21 points) pinned their hopes on a victory, narrowing the score to 31-28 halfway through the second. As the game went on Stepner proved to be too much, giving Akari a 74-69 victory. On court two, Duff & Phelps faced Confie a first round bye was at stake. Duff & Phelps was paced by a solid game from Yoni Mann (24 points) and Eitan Pfeiffer (17 points) but when the final buzzer sounded it was Eli Harcsztark (33 points) and team Confie who took home the win and a first round bye.

In the later games, team Sharsheret topped B-I-L Furniture 61-47 behind a 39 point game from Stevie Paul. On court two, Herzfeld Strong defeated the Benchwarmers 60-45 on the shoulders of Coby “rifleman” Zwebner’s 18 points, hitting six of seven three pointers.
