Teaneck Doghouse Sportstar of the Week: Judah Lowy

The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Teaneck Doghouse would like to recognize 11-year-old Judah Lowy as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. Jacoby, a fourth grader at RYNJ had a terrific month of August at Camp Malchus.

A few weeks ago, Judah wowed all spectators when he climbed a fence and stuck his hand over in order to catch the frisbee in Ultimate Frisbee. Avi Rosalimsky, head counselor of Camp Malchus told the JLNJ, “Judah is a true leader on the court and the optimal playmaker. He runs plays and makes all of the players around him better. He also uses his quick speed to get down to the other side of the court and score many points for his team.”

Judah, congrats on being recognized as a terrific athlete. Who is your role model and why?

My brother Ari, because he is good at everything he does and he is a good friend to everyone. He is awesome to hang out with and great older brother.

Who is your favorite athlete, and why?

Odell Beckham Jr. because he is an amazing football player and a great wide receiver—and he plays for the Giants, my favorite football team. My favorite player used to be Eli Manning, but I met him once and he wouldn’t sign my football (although I did get a picture with him) so I don’t like him anymore.

What is your greatest sports accomplishment so far?

Winning two super bowl games in the flag football league.

What is your favorite sports memory?

I made four interceptions in one game, which helped win the game for my team.

What is your earliest sport memory?

Watching the 2012 Super Bowl, Giants vs. Patriots. I was sick so my dad stayed home to watch the game with me.

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?

Playing Xbox and hanging out with my friends.

What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?

I love to play all kinds of sports. I am competitive and play my hardest on the field, and even though I always want to win, I am happy just to play and have a good time with my friends, even if I lose.

The Teaneck Doghouse Sportstar of the Week will receive a $15 gift certificate to Teaneck Doghouse. Please send nominees for an upcoming Jewish Link of New Jersey and Teaneck Doghouse Sportstar of the Week to [email protected].
