January 6 marked the kick off of the ninth season of the Mitch Gross Basketball League. This week’s spotlight game takes us to the final game of the weekend, EW Berger vs. #HustleHeartSports. Gabe Shein got the scoring started for #HustleHeartSports with six of his game high 22 points in the first quarter. The EW Berger boys answered back with a solid second quarter from Shmuel Yablok and Ben Richman (each throwing down six points of their own), but remained on the short end of a 24-16 score.

In the second half, #HustleHeartSports, switched to a box and one on Yablok (team high 16 points), giving big man Zachary Rayker more room to operate allowing him to score 10 of his 12 points, as EW Berger chopped the #HustleHeartSports lead to under four points. #HustleHeartSports got a last quarter surge when Elias Segal nailed two big threes and put the game out of reach, for a final score of #HustleHeartSports 56, EW Berger 46.
