Bruriah Volleyball Looks to Repeat as Champions

Another Bruriah team has earned a spot in its league’s championship. For the second straight year, Bruriah’s volleyball B team is making an appearance in the championship game. Led by Coach Aviva Jacobs and captains and seniors, Rachelli Benoff, Rivki Hook and Arielle Miodownik, the Lightning will face off against Magen David on March 19. Bruriah looks to defend its title in a repeat of last year’s championship game, also against Magen David. While the season has been a long one, the Lightning’s hard work has definitely paid off. Bruriah beat Shulamith 25-20, 25-11 when it hosted the Cyclones in the semi-finals to advance to the championship game. The Lightning comes into the championship at 8-3 against an undefeated Magen David. Rounding out the team are Devorah Burg (’20), Sheva Feldman (’19), Racheli Finkelstein (’20), Rachel Goldman (’19), Atarah Mandel (’21), Kayla Miodownik (’20), Mimi Rieger (’19), Avigail Sheinbein (’19) and Eliana Teichman (’19).
