(Courtesy of yumacs.com) The Yeshiva University men’s tennis team concluded the 2017-18 season with a hard-fought loss in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament to nationally-ranked No. 3 Bowdoin College, 5-0, on the Pickard Tennis Courts on Friday morning.

It was a very successful season for the Yeshiva University men’s tennis program, as the Maccabees captured their fifth consecutive Skyline Conference championship and automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. Yeshiva won its first round matchup over Ramapo College, 5-0, on Thursday.

“Unfortunately our season came to an end today, against arguably the best team in the tournament,” Yeshiva University head coach Jon Rubinstein said. “We played really well considering how tough our opponents were. The guys all fought hard to keep the match going as long as they could.”

For the Maccabees (14-6), senior Adam Rosemblaum and sophomore Lior Brik had a strong effort in the first doubles position, winning three games. Freshman Dylan Ohayon and sophomore Avidan Rudansky joined forces to win a game at #3 doubles.

In singles play, Brik won a pair of games in the opening set of the fourth position. Senior Charlie Friedman won the first two games of the second set at the third flight. Rosemblaum and sophomore Alexander Kalb each won a game at #1 and #6 singles, respectively. Freshman Dor Gutterman won a game in each set, at #2 singles.
