Teaneck’s own Amalya Knapp is a Level 10 gymnast and will be representing Team USA at the 2019 Pan American Maccabi Games held in Mexico City, Mexico. The Pan Am Maccabi Games are a celebration of Jewish unity, culture and heritage through athletic competition.

Being selected to compete in the Maccabi Games has been a long time goal of Amalya’s. For years she has worked very hard to keep up with rigorous gymnastics training while still maintaining her commitment to an Orthodox Jewish lifestyle. Although it is a challenge to balance these two worlds, she is excited to achieve her goal of representing both America and her Jewish heritage this summer.
