Maayanot’s Shoshy Blech (right) goes up for a spike after being set up by Eden Schechter (left) and Keren Raskin (center).

The Ma’ayanot Rapids volleyball team ended their season with a win over the Ramaz Rams in Teaneck on January 31. This win clinched their Western Conference title, with a regular season record of 9-1.

The Rapids were in control throughout the match, winning in three straight sets: 21-5, 21-7 and 21-15. Ramaz (7-3), however, never gave up and made a spirited comeback in the third set.

It was also Senior Night for Ma’ayanot, since it was the last home game of the season. Senior co-captains Shoshy Blech and Lily Fuchs were honored along with teammate Eden Schechter.

This win was particularly sweet for the Rapids, as it came against the only team to beat them this season. Both teams are set for the playoffs, with Ma’ayanot hosting North Shore and Ramaz traveling to Central.
