The Jewish Link of Bergen County and Gotham Burger would like to recognize 18-year-old Frisch Senior Odi Haramati as this week’s “Gotham Burger Sportstar of the Week.”

Haramati is one of the Yeshiva league’s top stars, averaging an unbelievable four goals per game for the Varsity Frisch Cougars. Make no mistake, Odi is by no means a one sport wonder.

When asked about Haramati, Rabbi Jonathan Schachter, Rosh Beit Midrash at Frisch, told the JLBC, “On the hockey court, he is a clear star. On the football field, he is a dominant quarterback who has an exceptional arm; he is as accurate throwing on the run as he is from the pocket, and he has a sharp mind to outsmart his opponent. He is a fierce competitor, who thrives in intense games. Odi is also the Frisch softball team’s shortstop, an absolute star in the field, and the closest thing to an automatic out if someone hits a ball anywhere near him. His glove and his arm are basically on autopilot. He is one of the top fielders I have been fortunate to coach over the last seven years. And finally, Odi is my dear student. Aside from being in one of my classes, Odi and I have a weekly chevrusa during one of his free periods. He volunteers his free time to come learn in the Beit Midrash. He is a phenomenal, all around, great guy. To watch him grow and mature into the fine, young man he is today, is the kind of experience which makes chinuch so rewarding. I am very proud of the man whom Odi has become.”

Odi who is your favorite athlete/role model?
