The ShanaTova App: Where Technology Meets Tradition

With the Jewish New Year quickly approaching, the ShanaTova App is a perfect way to inspire a new tradition by sending personalized mobile new years greetings to family and friends. Currently available for iPhone®, iPad® & iPod touch®,the Shana Tova App enables users to select from five templates, include a custom photo and share their personalized New Year’s greeting via email or Facebook.  Included in each greeting card is information about the holiday, its traditions and blessings that can be shared with loved ones around the world.

“Our goal was to create a fun, entertaining way for friends and family to experience and celebrate the Jewish New Year by combining the best of technology and tradition. We wanted an app that would span generations and be enjoyed by everyone, whether you’re a teenager, adult, bubbie or zadie,” said Gary Yentin creator of the ShanaTova App.

The ShanaTova App has already acquired a groundswell of support via Social Media: within days of launching its Facebook page, the app had over 4500 “Likes.”  www.facebook.com/shanatovaapp. Social media will continue to play an important role in sharing the joy of ShanaTova App as users can post and view their mobile creations via Facebook Connect and share via Tweets on Twitter _Shanatovaapp.

The ShanaTova App contains a wealth of useful information about Rosh Hashanah, including an overview of the holiday, its story and meaning, as well as the customs and blessings. A collaborative team of Jewish teachers, scholars, designers, marketers and everyday mobile app lovers created the application.
